Hi Eleanor,

I am using the merge function in Winsight to consolidate our XML file with our subk.

When I run the Set Indirects script to load my subk data, the script is not working for format3.

I always have input manualy BOP and EOP in the format3.

I am using 6.3 version of Winsight.

Any help or explanation would be appreciated.

Thank you
Malika Elias

I found this in the Administrator manual:

wInsight Administrator provides facilities for entering various fees, applying them, and calculating indirects (O/H, COM, G&A).  These features are targeted at prime contractors who must merge subcontractor data and provide their customers with a consolidated Cost Performance Report (CPR).  As such, these utilities affect CPR reports with dollars: CPR Format 1 – Work Breakdown Structure, Format 2 – Organizational Structure, and Format 3 – [script removed] See Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB).
For Format 3 to be affected, wInsight Administrator must derive Baseline numbers from time-phased future period data during the recalculated phase.  These utilities do not affect CPR header data.

...
Recalculation Options

When Derive Baseline is selected (the box is checked), Baseline data (CPR Format 3) is calculated using prior and current period data as well as time-phased future period data.  Select this option when Baseline data is not directly loaded (not manually entered nor imported from an earned value system).  When Derive Baseline is not selected (the box is clear) wInsight uses Baseline data that has been directly loaded (either manually entered or imported from an earned value system).

Note:  Do not select this option when Baseline data is directly loaded (entered or imported); otherwise, the data will be replaced by wInsight's calculated Baseline values.  In that event, the data will have to be reentered or re-imported.

When Derive Baseline is selected, Beginning of Period ([script removed] Beginning of Period ) data is calculated by using future period [script removed] Estimate to Complete data for the prior reporting period.  End of Period ([script removed] End of Period ) data is calculated by using future period ETC data for the current reporting period.  EOP data can be calculated by using the current period's data; however, BOP data cannot be calculated unless there is a prior period of data.  Furthermore, since future period data is utilized in the calculation of Baseline data, when Derive Baseline is selected you should also select the Process Future Period Data recalculate option.

When you Recalculate, click Options, and then select Derive Baseline and Process Future Period Data.  This will probably add to your calculation time.  Also be aware that this will override any imported or directly loaded values for the baseline data as shown in the note above.

Best of luck,

Eleanor
