I am making a custom report that uses the Future Period End Date to populate a header row.  My month headers are off on several of the headers because the end dates in our fiscal calendar happen to fall in a different month than the title should be.  For example, April ends on 5/2 so the header for April reads May 08 instead of Apr 08. Does anyone know a way to get around this problem?

Thanks,

Kim

Kim:

I copied the following from the user's manual:

Monthly Reporting Periods
The other condition that causes duplicate dates is when the cutoff date for a monthly period of data falls into the next month.

You must set up three items to implement this feature and resolve this issue:

In the Calendars spreadsheet, change the date format in the DateFmt column to !%P %y. This date format causes wInsight Administrator and wInsight to use the period numbers to display dates in the MMM YY format (for example, JAN 04). Do this for each calendar that contains period end dates that fall into the following month.

In the Named Calendars spreadsheet, enter the appropriate period number (1 for January &endash; 12 for December) in the PerNum column for each period end date. This eliminates duplicate future period dates on such items as the Cumulative Element Performance chart in wInsight. Do this for each calendar that contains period end dates that fall into the following month.

In the Periods spreadsheet, enter the appropriate period number (1 &endash; 12) in the PerNum column for each period of data. This eliminates duplicate dates in drop-down lists in wInsight Administrator and wInsight. This also ensures correct labeling of the Six Month Forecast columns on CPR Format 4. Do this for each contract that contains period end dates that fall into the following month.

(end of manual)
In order for the date to show up properly in your custom report use the same formatting, e.g.:
(|FutureEtc|EndDate|[!%P %y]|(-0)|{+1}|) Notice the square brackets to frame the date format.

So, make sure you've properly formatted the dates in your calendar, make sure the periods are numbered correctly, and then use that format in your custom report.

Let me know if that doesn't work.

Eleanor

Eleanor,

Thank you so much for your help. I had implemented those three items from the manual, but I did not understand how to make it show up correctly in my custom report.

Thanks again,

Kim
