EVMS Guideline 26 Design Considerations - Managerial Action
ANSI Standard 748 Guideline 26 requires the organization to take managerial action regarding significant variances. Beginning with the Control Account Manager (CAM) and as appropriate throughout the management structure, significant variances require the identification and implementation of corrective actions. In addition, corrective actions should be tracked and logged through resolution. Inherent to authorization of work is the responsibility and the authority to implement corrective actions.
In developing its Guideline 26 system description document, the organization should author procedures ensuring:
- Earned value data disseminated to appropriate managers
- Earned value data is used by appropriate managers:
- In an effective manner to ascertain program or functional status
- To identify reasons for significant variances
- To initiate appropriate corrective actions
- The organization:
- Monitors action plan items
- Performs action item corrective actions to the point of resolution
