In its Earned Value Management Implementation Guide (EVMIG), the Department of Defense carries the matter of Guideline-based documentation to a more traceable level of responsibility and granularity. The EVMIG identifies nine management processes. Each of these processes is a point of connection with an organization’s existing business practices.

- Management Analysis
- Change Control
- Materials
- Subcontract Management
