A Manager, after logging into the Trial Portal, should assign Earned Value Management Inventories to Users. The Manager will be able to assign Inventories in the Process(es) assigned to that Manager. The Inventories are where the Earned Value Managment System Documentation will be begun.

Hover the cursor over the "Manage" tab and select "Inventory Assignment" from the drop-down menu.

The Inventory Assignment page will appear.

The Manager has permission to assign Inventories in the Process(es) assigned to that manager. Clicking on a drop-down menu will assign inventories at that level to users. For example, using the drop-down menu at "1.4 Organize for Effective Performance Management" would assign all of the Inventories under 1.4 to the selected user: 1.4.1, 1.4.2, and 1.4.3. However, using the drop-down menu at "1.4.1 Establish CA as the Key Management Control Point" would have only assigned 1.4.1 to the selected user.

Managers have assign and edit permissions within the Process(es) assigned to them. Managers can edit the Inventories in Processes assigned to them. They can also edit fields in the Documents that are derived from Inventories in the Processes assigned to them.

Users, once assigned to an inventory or inventories, will have permission to complete the Inventories, and then to edit any fields in the Documents derived from the Inventories assigned to that user.
